Photography enthusiast and all around general geeks might enjoy this article and then again maybe not. I would consider myself at least a photo enthusiast but not nearly a professional. I’ve done a fair share of photo shoots, mostly with friends and for private collections. I may be a general horn dog and love porn and naked sexy women, but I also have a tekkie geek side which takes up alot of my time. Probably because I’m not nearly as good at it as I’d like to be. I’ve been messing around with photography for a number of years now. Ever since I got my first digital SLR. It was the first Canon Rebel. It was 6 mega-pixels and came with a very basic kit lens. I knew next to nothing about lighting, exposure, composition etc. I practiced a lot with that camera and I even bought a couple of other lenses to step up the quality and functionality of the camera. Figuring I didn’t really new a better camera until I learned more about photography and this camera I already had. Also, from what I was told, the glass is a very important part of the final image. First I bought the Canon EF 75-300 4.5 IS. I think it was about $500 or something. This zoom lens and the kit lens came with me to Rwanda, Africa to snap a few shots of the mountain gorillas. Very cool trip by the way.

This is one of the female gorillas of the family we visited. I like this shot because I actually got the focus correct. Sounds silly, but a number of my shots were not as clear as I was trying to capture the moment and didn’t take the proper time to focus on the gorillas so I got some pics of very clear bush and blurry gorillas. Lesson learned – don’t rush the shot. But then again it’s digital so what do you actually lose in trying.

Later I wanted to upgrade my daily lens from the kit lens, so I went all out and got and got the Canon EF 24-70, 2.8L. This beauty set me back a bit. Around $1100. But I tell you I love this lens. It made my basic Rebel DSLR shots so much better. Now I’ve got the serious bug and just a little over a month ago I ordered the Canon T1I.

This beauty of a camera is loaded with great stuff. I was trying to save my pennies for the Canon 5D Mark II, but that monster is around $2700 for just the body. I bought it’s little brother for about $800, body only. So one of the first things I really liked, and this may sound silly, but I really like the way it ‘clicks’ when I shoot. Nothing but a professional review here people! Seriously. Something about the way the mechanism works feels solid and sure. Maybe it’s simply the difference in level of camera but it’s still a good feeling. The 3in screen is awesome. The settings are easily manageable and easy to navigate on the screen which has more to do with the firmware I suspect. One of the presets on the dial is labeled “CA” which stands for Creative Arts I think. Here you can manually adjust the Bokeh (that’s the blurry effect you see surrounding the object of some pics). 15 megapixels doesn’t hurt either. Now most of what I shoot remains on the computer and on the internet so that huge file does go to waste. But every now and a gain I capture a shot that I want to print and hang on my wall. Lastly it has HD Video as well. Yes, real HD video, both 720 and 1080, as well as normal video setting.I can also shoot a still picture DURING filming. Very cool.

My ‘CONS’ for the camera aren’t many. First It’s too small for my hands. While it feels really solid and not flimsy, it’s just small. I guess things are going in that direction… more stuff in smaller spaces, but I’m essentially holding it with 2 fingers. I’m getting the extra battery pack handle for it and that will cover that problem. Secondly it only has an internal mic for video with no jack to add an external mic. Why is this a problem? Well, if you decide to zoom in and out during your video then the internal mic picks up the sound of the servos, or what ever the heel is in there, clicking away. Oh and remember that you can shoot a still pic while filming? Well, you REALLY here the shutter on the video later. Now you have to remember it’s a still camera first and a video recorder second. This does have awesome clarity in the vids, if everything is well lit, but it’s still primarily a still camera. Also, if you’re going to add a sound track to your video then you may never have to worry about the clicking sounds.

Personally I love the camera. I wonder what the 5D Mark II  would have been like. But I’m pleased with this camera and it’s more camera than I need right now. Maybe one day in the future I’ll have the flow to spring for the $3K for the big brother. But for now you’ll see all my pics and vids from this bad boy!

Well, I’ve had some time to unwind and digest everything I saw and did at this years Internext show in Hollywood FL. Rumors are true that attendance was lower than in past years but with the economy as it is I can see why. Having said that I really think it was a great show. Personally I was able to get some work done, make a few really good contacts and meet some personal favorites of the porn world. I’ll get more into that later in the post. This year I got smart and got a room and stayed on the property. I live about 30-45 minutes south of the hotel in Miami but the driving back and forth is really kind of a pain in the ass. So I shared a room with a buddy of mine JerseyXXX.

I got there around 1pm on Friday and was very surprised to find absolutely no line to get the badges. Very strange as in past years there has been a mass of people clamoring around with their luggage trying to get their badges before heading to the main desk to check in. I was very happy to move effortlessly through the registration area and into the hotel, but it’s sad to see things slow down like this. Now there were still a shit load of people at the show, just not as much as in the past.

So I get down to the Splash Bar of the Westin Diplomat Hotel and find a few friends, DarkWeb and his uber hot wife Daisy (gorgeous feet too!) and Nurgle and Marcy. It seems the rest of my buds of the Medium Pimpin crew were heading up to the conference hall to support the owner of Medium Pimpin, MP (Kevin) as he was a panelist in the discussion about Tube Sites and there affect on the industry. Having heard a lot of arguments about these “illegal” tubes sites I can offer up my opinion on the issue, as if anyone gives two shits about my opinion. But I will write again about it another time. The panel was interesting in this forum. MP and LAJ of YNOT, are against the practice. There were some who basically said “Well, we can’t stop them so let’s think of a way to play nice with them.” That’s fucking lame pansy ass shit man. Now I’m the first guy to look for an alternative to conflict. I agree the “tube” site is here to stay. But we don’t have to sit back and accept THEFT as a normal business practice. Of course there was someone who was trying to JUSTIFY the illegal tubes model. I couldn’t believe anyone would have the balls to go up in front of a room of people and say “Yep, it’s a good thing!” Fucking tool.

So after that fun lecture most of us met back down at the Splash bar to continue our tried and true method of networking. You laugh but it really is the best place to meet people and open doors. It was later that afternoon when 2 Live Crew came to the stage and sang for a group of shouting drunks as they held a wet t-shirt contest. Were you thinking it would be a little more classy? I’m always enticed with the beauty of some of the girls walking around the show. The young lady on the left of the following pic was amazingly hot! You should of seen her in person. She was very engaging and friendly to boot. Gorgeous from head to toe – yes, she had pretty toes too! You can also see the two girls on the right are also in the bikini contest above. The tall one on the far right is the owner of the nice round ass in the shot above.

After the show I made my way upstairs to one of the ballrooms where there was a meet and greet. Some people set up their own tables to discuss business and/or introduce themselves to those attending the event.

Then we all had to start getting ready for the evening. We had a casual buffet dinner set up at Dave & Busters for Friday night. It was just what the doctor ordered too. We all had a great time shooting pool and playing the games in their parlor like like little children. A very laid back, slow paced evening away from all the hullabaloo of the show.

Saturday was another day of meeting wonderful people and networking by the pool. I did get to meet Catalina Cruz this weekend. I had to rescue her from a sad excuse for a man/stalker/drunk/man walking around with his zipper open. A knight in shining armor I am! LOL I wish we had a little more time together but there’s always next time.

And of course there was the bikini contest. Always a crowd favorite. This year the bikini contest was sponsored by iPorn.

This was great. This blond girl says fuck it and takes of her bikini. Figured what the hell, it’s not like the bikini is the important part here now is it? She didn’t win the final prize but she did get scolded by the security guards at the hotel. What fucking difference does it make. We had the whole hotel just for us. Small minds is all it is.

Later that night we found ourselves in the PornPoker Tour’s poker room. I didn’t play poker, mostly because I suck at it. So I sat down at the blackjack table. Right next to the absolutely stunning and gorgeous C-Luv of GTBill. I think I just may have to start a business that needs credit card processing just so I have an excuse to talk to her more often.

This last shot is just me horsing around at night with the camera. Came out pretty good too considering it was hand held with a two second exposure. Should have had my tripod with me for this shot so it would have been stationary. It’s still a little blurry. Oh well.
